Talking Poker 05-12-07 12:11 AM

One of you Stars regulars needs to keep an eye on this and give us a heads up as the big day approaches.

LOL at their deposit bonus. Cause people can deposit.

Talking Poker 05-12-07 12:12 AM

LOL at the tool who will inevitably fold to the 10 cent preflop raise.

Robbr25 05-12-07 12:13 AM

No kidding on the deposit bonus.
Not even worth the hastle of trying to get the money in.

MAYHEM45 05-12-07 12:22 AM

Moneybookers FTW! oh wait, you're American :p

Robbr25 05-12-07 12:24 AM

Damn Canads

Kurn 05-12-07 12:28 AM

They're about 32,000,000 hands away from the first milestone hand (#9,900,000,000).

And FYI, I can still deposit there using my US issued Master Money Card.

In case you all missed it, the DOJ will almost assuredly not have the regs in place for UIGEA enforcement by the 270 day deadline.

Reel Deal 05-12-07 12:33 AM

I'll be depositing from ePassport.

Kurn 05-12-07 12:37 AM

And, yes, we love ePassporte, the Zero paper-trail way to get your money out.

Reel Deal 05-12-07 12:48 AM

Me no get it.

Kurn 05-12-07 07:40 AM

Its possible to use your winnings without them ever touching a US financial institution (e.g., your bank). No paper trail = reduced probability of IRS involvement.

Disclaimer: above information not to be construed as being advice to violate any laws. ;)

Kurn 05-12-07 08:27 AM

Update

Less than 29,000,000 hands until the first milestone. The fun should start late Monday afternoon.

Edited a couple of times due to fuzzy-headed math.

Robbie Robb 05-12-07 09:19 AM

At least with the 'BIG' hand last time around everyone was all-in. I think the ONLY way I'd be folding a crap hand here was if my name ElKy and I was sitting at the big money table with more than $200K in front of me... :)

Reel Deal 05-12-07 11:35 AM

Well, we can't have that now can we... :D

Talking Poker 05-12-07 05:19 PM

How many hands per hour (or day) have they been averaging lately?

VeryMoonFunk 05-12-07 11:31 PM

is there a way to check what number it's on?

juiCe[3x] 05-12-07 11:40 PM

Shows up on top left while you are playing at a table.

GeoffM 05-13-07 01:33 AM

Also double points on the bonus, meaning its a 7.5X. Very nice!

Kurn 05-13-07 09:10 AM

Looking at it this morning, it looks like they've played about 18,000,000 hands in the last 24 hours or so.

eejit101 05-13-07 09:58 AM

 i wonder if i can play in greece??

then again, which is better? beer and chicks or winning at poker?

omahilo 05-13-07 10:38 AM

ask boobie that question once...

drewjax 05-13-07 11:41 AM

Ummmm,

winning beer and chicks by playing poker.........DUH

:p

I've never had a million chips in a tourney, I don't think. Well done.

Spuddy 05-13-07 08:04 PM

Yeah,

I was also go to saying that it was my first time having a mil in chips! Which is pretty cool.....

So 6 and a half hours of work for $3.80

Hate to break it to you, but you weren't really close.

Invigilator 05-14-07 06:59 AM

I am joing to try and multitable a bit this afternoon and hope, hope, hope!

eejit101 05-14-07 09:05 AM

12 table random limits lol. +EV FTW.

anyone figured what your odds of hitting any of the milestone hands are?

Windbreaker 05-14-07 11:04 AM

I've been playing exclusively on Stars for about 4 months or so now.

From what I can tell....it took about 1h 20 minutes or so for every 100 million hand during prime time Sunday night.

People estimate that the 10th billion hand will hit around midnight Thursday.

From the first few milestone hands....all I can say is good luck hitting any of them. I was playing 12 tables...full ring, about half of them on the fast tables....of the 12 tables...the closest I got to the milestone hand was about 300 hands away. Even if there's 12 table set up for a foldathon fast 6-max....I'm guessing it's still about a 1% chance of hitting it.

Aside - I'm 12-tabling for the double VPP points...not for the milestone bonuses. This is more poker than I would like to play.

Robbr25 05-14-07 11:45 PM

I know I wasnt close at all. Just makin some conversation, cause it looks like no one else was playing when it hit.

murkosk 05-15-07 01:35 PM

This is awsome! Thanks to this promotion I started to love micro limit games.
:)

Invigilator 05-15-07 03:24 PM

I have been playing a lot of 25 max lately, and during the last 2 days I have been killing the game. I love the swag though, so the double FPP is awesome!

Nikita 05-15-07 08:30 PM

I need to get back to playing, I haven't played poker in a couple weeks. I know I'm missing out, but I just haven't really wanted to play.

Kurn 05-19-07 05:05 PM

Ha!! Who says $0.01/$0.02 is unprofitable

10B hand was dealt at a 1c/2c NLHE table. Unfortunately, it was not one of the 10 I was playing (lowest I was at was a 4c/8c stud table).

winner had 8c 3c made a flush

SALAZARRRRRR 05-19-07 09:06 PM

Two people also folded during the hand folding about $10k in EV for a $5 shove preflop.

Talking Poker 05-19-07 10:35 PM

People are awesome.

P.S. You all suck for not giving us a heads up that this was approaching.

Kurn 05-19-07 10:45 PM

Sorry, but my aging brain can't handle 10 tables *and* posting. :(

Talking Poker 05-19-07 10:57 PM

Well, an hour or two head up (before you started 10 tabling) would have done just fine...

Meh, my own fault for being too lazy to check in on this.

Ando05 05-20-07 02:19 AM

wow 2ppl actually folded, lmfaooo

Invigilator 05-20-07 08:01 AM

This was an entertaining promotion. I didn't hit any anniversary hands, but the double FPP was nice. There also seemed to be a lot of action at the 25 max level (hard to find an open seat sometimes).

Kurn 05-20-07 09:20 AM

It always happens. Either they're clueless about the promotion, or they think its some kind of scam, or just idiots.

I was at a stud/8 table earlier in the day and about 100K hands from a milestone, 5 people call the BI and we miss the milestone by like 5 hands.

In chat I say "great. right before a milestone hand 5 people call the bring-in. Must hate money."

2 people say something to the effect of "what's a milestone hand?" Like most areas in life, people don't friggin' pay attention.

and his response....

“might at as well explain what happend here about that 10billionth hand before I get swamped with questions about it, really annoying by the way. I was on 50 tables, with 5 different cpus, and 5 different star names, the only way i could manage them all was by using a bob and weave strategy of automatically clicking the gold ‘fold to any bet’ option, when I had realized one of my tables was the winner i quickly noticed i had 24o, and thought it would be a wise idea to lobby for a chop, i was confused at first because the guy in charge was not in red, also i was overwhelmed knowing i was going to receive a quick 13k and a wcoop ticket regardless of the outcome, the guy told us there would be a 10 minute waiting period, it was more like 4 or 5, i was still asking questions about the chop, when he suddenly goes here we go, I said “I have Aks, but don’t think it’s worth to risk it”, meaning I don’t think it’s worth to have the fate of 100,000 by dumb luck, and said i had aks to fear the other players into thinking a chop would be a good way to go considering the strenth of my hand, and i though if i said i had aa, kk, etc, they might not believe me, when the hand was dealt I assure you I was more than distraught to see my cards go into the muck, you see I, and 7 other people watching my computer at that moment, had failed to notice, that this table had already had the gold ‘fold to any bet’ option checked. It was checked already of course, because I had already clicked it when i was trying to fold all the tables as fast as possible. Dumb mistake, I know, but not like the action actually came to me and i pressed fold. I did not protest, because my hand was 24o with a finishing hand of 4 high. I couldn’t imagine how I would feel if I had the winner, but am still 3 dollars richer.
