Which do you recommend most?
I have cashed out of PartyPoker by using their BankWire Transfer (which was easy and quick), thinking PokerStars had the same option to deposit/cashout. I have Paypal, but Stars doesn't accept that one, so I am back to square one and in need of another method of cashing out/depositing.
Which do you prefer and why? Please vote and post reason for your choice. TY. |
Stars doesnt have moneybookers, but I wish they did.
|
They do now!
You must really like moneybookers. Have you ever used Epassporte and why do you prefer moneybookers? |
I get my rakeback payments thru moneybookers. Doesnt epassporte have fees on every transaction?
I dont see any mention of moneybookers on stars website as well, where did you hear this? |
Yeah, epassporte has fees for every transaction it seems. I looked into opening an account there as Stars was having problems with eChecks. Since the annoying popup has gone away I'm guessing Stars got that worked out.
I went with 'Other'. Use the eChecks feature if it's available. If you don't want them having access to your main account, open a secondary account and transfer funds into that as necessary... |
Updated version

I was looking to deposit and when I logged into Stars (after the new update), there it was. Here it is...
|
Oop. Just checked. No option for eCheck. Guess they don't have it fixed yet...sigh.
That said, I don't have the Moneybookers option on my deposit screen. I only have 7 options. |
Hmm, was the update today? cuz I'm not getting one when I open the software.
And lol at the $50 charge for non US withdrawals thru Epassporte. Fuck that. |
Log out of PokerStars, then once you log back in; there will be an updated version of Stars. My guess, they just added it.
|
10 or 15 minutes ago, about the same time I created this poll...after checking Stars transfer options.
edit: Okay, seems more like 30mins...time sure passes quickly online. |
Not for me. And wtf, 5% of all money added taken out as fee, who the fuck would actually use this? $35 a year as well, epassporte is a ripoff.
|
Reboot your computer, then log back into PokerStars. You will definitely get the new update this way.
|
Still nothing. You might wanna watch out. You could have a hacked copy. There's nothing on 2p2 about moneybookers and pokerstars.
|
Are you playing with me or are you serious?
|
You use this program right? This thread is pretty worrying. I'm being completely serious here, dont open stars until one of us confirms that infact they have added moneybookers. |
Are you saying it might have something to do with the StarsBuddy?
Does anyone else not have moneybookers as a banking option to deposit on Stars?? To be safe, I (just now), uninstalled StarsBuddy. |
I don't have an update available for me either. The ONLY thing I can possible think of is that you may have an update related to where you live - Quebec. Perhaps that is the main difference. (Or do you have your location as something else entirely????)
I have StarsBuddy installed but I'm not running it at the moment. That is definitely something that raises questions as to why they need to hook into explorer.exe. It will be interesting to see what they say. |
Thats the only reason I have doubts. I've never used the software FWIW.
|
I downloaded the Starsbuddy but haven't used it much. That thread on 2+2 worries me a little, though. Would probably be wise to all those who downloaded it (when I posted it), to uninstall it, till we are certain it is clean and free from bugs.
I have emailed PokerStars asking them if they sent me an update, haven't heard from them as of yet. |
options on stars

from what I'm to understand with stars is that some people have some opions and some dont. They are trying new options all the time and selecting random people to try these options before they give it to the mass. So with that in mind some have some options and some dont.
I just installed stars because it wasnt on my computer since I reset to factory and here is what mine looks like. |
Phew...What a relief!
Hello Sophie,
MoneyBookers is a new deposit option that is currently being introduced to a small subset of our players to ensure that there are no major flaws or bugs. Unfortunately we cannot alter the groups as they are system defined. It will eventually be rolled out to bigger groups as our introduction continues. Your patience is appreciated and thank-you for choosing PokerStars! Regards, Gabriel PokerStars Support Team **I am being used as a guinea (sp?) pig or am loved? Mon Dieu, je peux respirer maintenant! |
yippie
I was right about something YIPPIE!!!!
I have actually had the cashier go to private chat with me and try to figure out ways for me to deposit when my card was declined. I feel special or they just want my rake!! honestly though they have been trying new methods for months now and I don't see any new options so I'm very skeptical. |
That's good to hear. At least we know it wasn't a hack or anything like that. I also have a suspicion WHY StarsBuddy is hooking into explorer.exe and I'm pretty sure it's harmless. That said, I don't plan on running it again until I'm able to confirm said suspicion.
|
I hope everything works out alrite with moneybookers then. Now If only Full tilt would add them too it'd be just like the neteller days for me.
|
I feel responsible, since I posted the link to the StarsBuddy on this forum, so please don't use it till we get confirmation, as to the safety of this software.
|
Alright, scare is over and poll is officially over. If Mayhem will go through all this for moneybookers, I am sure it's the best one out of the two.
This also affected my decision to choose moneybookers. |
The only thing that sucks is the relatively low limits per 90 day period moneybookers has, but I'll gladly trade that for ridiculous fees. the only fees moneybookers has is about 2 bucks to cashout via EFT, which is nothing compared to 50 bucks, lol.
|
Mayhem - What currency is best to use with moneybookers? (I had Neteller set to USD)
|
I stuck to USD, otherwise ur biting the exchange on each transfer to and from poker sites. When you keep it in USD the only time you get hit with exchange is cashing out to your bank account.
|
pre paid via (for deposits)
virtual visa at walgreens should work keep it low key on the dl:thumbsup: |
That made me LOL.
|
im using epassporte right now and ya it is a ripoff, so if full tilt can offer moneybooker, i'll defently use that
|
Problems, problems...
(Accounts must be held at the same branch and be in the same currency)
My bank will not allow this type of transfer. *merde* Weird way to deposit on moneybookers. I truly am starting to miss Neteller now. :( |
You cant do it through online banking. Print out the transfer details and bring them to the teller at your bank.
I havent deposited into Moneybookers, and probably never will though, so take that FWIW. The eft cashout to my bank account took 3 days though. You need to call and ask your bank for their SWIFT code to set that up though. All in all it appears everything besides neteller is a huge pain in the ass. I miss neteller so much :(. Moneybookers is the best option of them all right now tho. |
yep
not for long, the visa companies are finding out that this is going towards gambling and are telling the sites they have to stop that. Visa dosent like to be associated with gambling so its only a matter of time till this option is gone all together. someone didnt keep it on the DL obviously. |
Seems too much trouble to deposit into Moneybookers through my bank & probably not a good idea to give my bank account details to an online transmitting service, I am not too familiar with.
I think I will use my credit card to fund my moneybookers account. It is instant and safer to use. Thank you for the eft cashout info, I will be needing it when/if I cash out at some point. |
wont most sites just send you a check if you like when you cash out? most sites I have played have this option if you like |
Takes 7 - 10 days for a check cashout. EPT is quicker, only 3 days.
|
A question and a comment:
1. Why is this in Off Topic? I'll move it. 2. After reading the 2p2 thread, my hunch is that StarsBuddy is clean. IF, however, it is not and does have a keylogger attached to it, uninstalling it isn't enough - your account may have already been compromised. So for anyone who has used it, be smart - change your Stars password immediately. |
Got the new update today. Moneybookers works awesome.
|
wow
I actully had a moneybookers account and didnt know it maybe I will try this out.
seems like I can not use my bank account for some weird reason, will try it with my debit card. debit card seems to work fine and the fee of 1.65% seems fair. |
Moneybookers takes U.S. customers?
|
I dont see why not, they registered my bank account with no problems. Remember also that I'm not a new customer, signed up awhile ago and just now got around to verifying everything. |
Wierd... Absolute doesn't seem to think they work with U.S. customers.
Link: |
Absolute and UB are fucking retarded. They did the same thing to me. They let me deposit 500, but wouldnt let me cash it out. fuck those sites.
|
You shouldn't be having any problems, since you're Canadian.
|
well
no idea why, havent tried depositing yet and wont for couple weeks but when I do I will let you know but from what I see I dont think I will be having a problem.
|
I see their site has a whole bunch of flags on the main page - not including the U.S. flag. They also have some ad for a referral bonus or something where they pay you however many EUROS. This almost always means "No U.S. Customers," but when you click on their Join form, one of the location options is USA, and you can deal in US$. Hmmmmmm...
I haven't looked at it any farther than that. Edit: OK, just found which certainly makes it look like Americans can't "Upload Funds." |
I think and dont quote me on this. you can upload through credit or debit cards but cant through bank accounts but when you want to withdraw you can to your bank account. now this is a theroy from browsing through my account because it wont let me load through bank account but withdrawing to it seems to be no problem. Where credit or debit card seems no problem loading, again im just kinda guessing here. |
Wait
I just noticed this at bottom when I went to upload...
It is Moneybookers' policy NOT to allow residents of the United States of America to make payments to gambling/casino/poker merchants. If you make this deposit, the funds will only be available for NON-GAMING purposes. oh well.... |
