best way to build a Bankroll with 10$

I just received a letter in the mail from Pacific poker saying they put 10$ in my account. I have never deposited there before or anything. I have also never started with only 10$. Im a much better trny player than ring IMO. But i was looking for some advice on bbuilding from this small amount.

BrianSwa 03-11-05 03:36 AM

hey

I built $5 into $300 on pacific way back when then lost it on high levels. I won the $5 in a freeroll. The way I did it is I started at the .05/.10 limit tables and built it up it was very boring but thats how I did it. They do have NL tables now so you might want to check that out but you could lose that money in one hand so I suggest the limit tables. Its gonna take awhile but if you play smart poker you should be able to build up to the next level and keep moving up when you have the bankroll for the next level. I dont think you can cash out though until you deposit something, one of their rules I believe.

bigjohnstud2o 03-11-05 03:48 AM

for any of you that play there

how are the trny players?

If you are asking a question like this when you have a bankroll of $10 you are in serious trouble.
Your best bet if you are seriously thinking of playing tourneys with a $10 bankroll should be to get into the highest limit game you can, and playing the first hand all-in.
Actually, an even better idea, would be to take the first quarter you find on the street, and put it into a slot machine. You'll have better odds to win then playing tourneys with that roll.

Brian actually gave you some good advice.
You have 3 options...
1 Take the advice and grind out a bankroll.
2 Save some money until you have a decent deposit to take advantage of first deposit bonuses.
3. Do it your way and go broke on the same day.

Good luck. You are going to need it.

Aequitas58 03-11-05 04:08 AM

Grinding it out at micro-stakes limit holdem is probably the best way to go, just because there is less variance.

W/ $10 free, I would sit at a 5c-10c NL table w/ the whole amount and let it ride. Build from there. It's only $10 bucks - if you lose it, no big deal.

I'd probably fall asleep playing 5c-10c limit.

bigjohnstud2o 03-11-05 04:10 AM

wow

I have no idea why you have something against me chip. I have never said anything to offend you that i know of. In every reply to any of my posts you come across as an asshole. I traded TP mu TEC for money on ub and am doing fine there. I have no means of depositing online unless i mail a check or player transfers. I was just looking for advice since i have never started with a roll this small

bigjohnstud2o 03-11-05 04:11 AM

well im up to

26.09 at the moment.

Aequitas58 03-11-05 04:11 AM

At Pacific, my experiences tell me all the players are terrible.

ChipFish 03-11-05 04:11 AM

Re-read my post... Advice was given...
I'm sorry I didn't sugarcoat it for you.

Boo-hoo.

Aequitas58 03-11-05 04:13 AM

Sand in your vagina, Chip?

BrianSwa 03-11-05 04:14 AM

ummmm

Have you ever read Chip's replies to me? he isnt singleing you out man thats how he responds to posts. Im not him so I can't say for sure he dosent like you but he is humerous in all his replies to everyone on here. If you dont believe me go check out all his replies to various posts. That is just chip for you!!

Aequitas58 03-11-05 04:14 AM

What are you playing?

bigjohnstud2o 03-11-05 04:14 AM

just re read

didnt want sugarcoated. But pick up a quarter and stick it in a slot machine? Go all in and let lluck override skill? To be such a good player I dont find that to be positive advice.

bigjohnstud2o 03-11-05 04:15 AM

a 10$ nl table .05/.10 blind

10 handed. they are not the chatting type. Can you multi on here. I cant find a way to open 2 tables at the same time? and you will never find me if i didnt say my name.

BrianSwa 03-11-05 04:17 AM

Noooooooo

Watch out here he comes!!!!

Aequitas58 03-11-05 04:21 AM

I kinda disagree w/ you here, Brian. I read Chip's original reply, and I thought it was a little rough ... but hey, who am I to criticize someone for being mean?

I think it's funny that you automatically stick up for Chip (not that he needs you on his side). He's given you some nice compliaments during the last few days, so I can understand how you feel like he's your best friend. You've done it to me before.

Don't forget about a month ago, when me, TP, and Chip were all morons, the forum sucked, and all that other shit. But whatever... I'm not trying to start stuff, just pointing out that it's more than interesting considering who's side you're automatically on.

Be objective.

Aequitas58 03-11-05 04:21 AM

Not at all. I cashed out my roll from Pacific. (Even though it too 7 days.)

Aequitas58 03-11-05 04:23 AM

No multi on Pacific. Welcome to the wonderful world of antiquated software.

BrianSwa 03-11-05 04:23 AM

hey

Im not on anyones side..I hate everyone but the truth is most of chipfish's replies are like that. If you remember someone said the same thing about a month ago about chip being mean to them. I was just pointing out facts, not trying to make friends. If I need a friend I will buy a dog not a faceless name on the internet.

Never tried to be friend's with you either just pointing out that you are a good player. As for the moron comment well dont have excuse for that sorry though.

bigjohnstud2o 03-11-05 04:25 AM

sorry guys

i didnt mean for this thread to be about me and chip. I am just looking for a way to maximize this roll so i have somewhere else to play at besides UB. I appreciate your advice brian but i am controlled and disciplined enough to play NL. I have took Aeq's advice ad sat at the .05/.10 NL tables. down to 24.09 been folding. UHOH 22 in BB later. well nasty flop AKJ

BrianSwa 03-11-05 04:27 AM

K

Didnt mean to say you wernt disaplined just those players suck and will run any two cards to the river and hit that 1-2 outer. That is the reason you can lose your roll in one hand not because you play bad. The best player in the world can lose that roll if some idiot hits that 1 outer on the river.

Aequitas58 03-11-05 04:28 AM

I've seen Chip give very helpful replies. He's a good player, and I give him alot of respect... so his replies aren't always mean, as you suggest.

He's done well in the TPF events, seems to post good results, and I can understand anyone would want and accept his advice. But, in this case, he's being a jerkoff. John's just asking for some help from other players... and being a moderator of this forum, I expect more - but that's just me.

bigjohnstud2o 03-11-05 04:29 AM

true

but i have everyone here outchipped at least 2-1

Aequitas58 03-11-05 04:30 AM

At this point, John wants the 1 and 2 outers to chase. All day.

BrianSwa 03-11-05 04:31 AM

Ok

I see your point Aeq, and by no means do I think he dosent give great advice. Has given me terrific advice in the past, I just dont think he was being overly mean. But like you said thats just how I saw it, getting way off track from origional purpose of the post. John is winning a book for sure :)
