I knew it was the same one as last years monster cash, but couldn't remember if it was a two day event.

Not being followed by Cardplayer.com it appears, dammit.

melioris 08-03-06 05:31 PM

think it is down to level 11 or the FT today, rest tomorrow.

2Tone 08-03-06 05:32 PM

Two-day event

Then again, they said you start with 1000 as opposed to 1500 ...

actully

I think you guys are right think it is 2 days.

drewjax 08-03-06 06:04 PM

Are they giving a braclet for this event?? I dont think they gave one for this event last year.

GO TP!!!!!!

jaeh00d 08-03-06 06:09 PM

i'm pretty sure they did, i thought every tournament in the "wsop" in vegas gets a bracelet. I could be wrong though, i'm not sure. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

BrianSwa 08-03-06 06:11 PM

yes

just like last year this is for braclet.

Robbie Robb 08-03-06 06:32 PM

I go up and feed the kid and *BAM* three more updates:

3:05pm 11275
3:12pm 12600
3:22pm 12400 - On break now.

redbank09 08-03-06 06:37 PM

never been to a big live tourny, is there anyway for him to know where he stands in the field?

Robbie Robb 08-03-06 06:37 PM

Guess break's over. Here's what just came in:
"Been card dead last 2 levels but was on sick rush to start. lost one bigish pot last level. ive colored up 7 stacks of green. 6 left."

I'm assuming Mark means that he has 6 stacks of green left.

Penguinfan 08-03-06 06:45 PM

In my world green =$25, what are they worth in this event?

20 chips to a stack, right?

Penguinfan 08-03-06 06:56 PM

I'm gonna quess that they colored up the green chips meaning they took them out of play.

So I am guessing his stack is black chips and he has in the 12K range????

Penguinfan 08-03-06 07:00 PM

Normally there are monitors telling you how many players are left and the average chip count, which is simply the number of chips in that were in play to start with divided by the number of players left.

Not sure if these big events have something more sophisticated or not. I know when they got to the bubble last year it took a hand or two for the news to reach the short stack (who had one chip left) that he made the money.

Robbie Robb 08-03-06 07:14 PM

Lost a monster pot. Down to 6K in chips.

Robbie Robb 08-03-06 07:16 PM

I'm pretty sure that green = $25 at WSOP as well. There was an article online about this guy that had a green chip with $25 printed on one side. On the opposite side was $100. Since it was green, they gave him a properly marked $25 green chip in its place.

Robbie Robb 08-03-06 07:43 PM

"4500. Ugh."

melioris 08-03-06 07:47 PM

Robbie-you got to tell this to TP, or maybe not.

Just got pulled aside by K.J. again, this time with him pointing to the rails.

"See that?"

There's a blonde over there.

"That's Lindsay Lohan."

"Really?"

"Sure enough."

Not being a fan of pop culture I didn't immediately recognize her, but I snapped the photo anyway. After checking it out on google it might very well be her. Here's a pic of the possible Lindsay Lohan, standing on the rails at the World Series of Poker. (Needless to say she's the one on the right.)"

also, from same site, a description of a monster hand.

"Thursday, 03rd of August 2006 04:38 PM
Big hand over on table 139.

To a board of 8 6 Q 7 9 a player bets $3,000 (six stacks of green $25 chips) into the center of the pot.

Doesn't take long for Steve Amatucci, the only other player in the pot, to say: "I call."

His opponent taps the table.

"Nice hand," he says. "I got a pair."

"Yeah, I got a straight," says Steve, flipping over the 8-10 for a ten-high straight. Big hand, huge pot, and Steve is up to about $12,000 at the moment."

jaeh00d 08-03-06 08:02 PM

Hadn't heard from Mark in a while but just got a message from him. He's sitting at 16200 and reports that there is about 12 to go until the money.

MathBabe 08-04-06 12:17 AM

I'm going to be up for another hour at least, probably two (waiting for the Mr. to get home from a business trip). You can suggest that he text/email me instead if you like, if you've got early-rising-baby issues!
