On pace to be close to 100k by the end of the month. Damn.

herschelw 01-19-09 08:33 PM

+1 with $50k on the line he cant afford not to. The wildcard in this whole thing is how far WSOP sets him back.

JDMcNugent7 01-19-09 09:24 PM

i hope he gets 2nd to me in wsop so neither of us care about this even anymore and i win both.

MAYHEM45 01-19-09 11:02 PM

Your old enough for wsop this year? TP house imo.

JDMcNugent7 01-20-09 04:51 AM

old enough. does any1 know when they start running sattys to wsop? i dont exactly want to buy in.

Reel Deal 01-20-09 09:14 AM

Is there a rail thread over at PTP? I took a quick look and couldn't find it. Perhaps you could place a link to his rail thread in your OP TP?

Talking Poker 01-20-09 10:45 AM

Put your glasses on, old man - I did that a long time ago ("Progress Thread" in OP). It's not much of a "rail thread," but he posts quick updates and/or updates the first post with his VPP numbers once or twice per week. When I happen to spot them, I copy and paste them here...

And I see he updated a few hours ago:

1/2 7017 vpps
1/5 15619 vpps
1/8 26318 VPPS
1/10 33559 vpps
1/11 36921 vpps
1/17 53941 vpps
1/19 60982 vpps

God damn it, getting old sucks.

Talking Poker 01-30-09 08:18 PM

at the conclusion of

1/2 7017 vpps
1/5 15619 vpps
1/8 26318 VPPS
1/10 33559 vpps
1/11 36921 vpps
1/17 53941 vpps
1/19 60982 vpps
1/25 78395 vpps
1/29 85800 vpps

And also:

He's still ahead of pace, but certainly not tons.

Talking Poker 12-29-09 08:14 PM

Brutal.

Also, I shipped JD's $. I didn't really like that $5k sitting in my account all year, honestly. I always needed to remember that it was there and wasn't to be touched.

Insane

I had forgotten about this. I can't imagine he had a very fulfilling year, but I’ve got to hand to him for determination. Hopefully he uses the money to recharge his batteries and do something – anything -- other than just jump up in stakes.

I count myself fortunate that I didn't have it together to take any action on this, because I would have bet big against him. Even reading the thread and following it all play out, it is still hard to believe he could do this.

Wes 12-30-09 03:04 AM

Looks like he lost 100k last year playing cash games. How much did he win in this prop bet?

JDMcNugent7 12-30-09 03:44 AM

son of a bitch, saw this thread and really thought I had 10k coming my way that totally forgot about.

being results oriented, it seems really dumb to have bet against a guy making all his own rules and restrictions. I mean we're basically betting that he thinks he can play way more than he actually can. How should we know?

Talking Poker 12-30-09 10:38 AM

He lost around $90k playing $200 NL, won around $60-65k from this prop bet, and had another $130k (can't remember - might have been more) or so in bonuses along the way for making SNE.

Talking Poker 12-30-09 10:40 AM

Actually, the people betting against him made 90% of the rules, and I still think this was an incredibly tough bet for him. It came down to the wire, and he admitted to considering quitting at least a couple of times. Clearly it wasn't a sure thing for us, but I still think it was a good bet.

Wes 12-30-09 11:37 AM

I thought he wouldn't play that many cash game hands given he could only play three days of the week at them. Then he plays 2 million hands, which I couldn't do even in my most insane driven points of career. Got to congratulate him in the end.
