I just checked on PokerWire and Freddy Deeb is down from 1,000,000 chips to only 13,000.....wow, quite a swing, eh RellDeal?:D
|
No way Freddy donks off that many chips that fast...further proof that all poker is rigged!!

I think it's something like this. I meant to post this yesterday, while you were still playing, but I forgot.
Hey, when you're on, you're on ... Thorsson Eliminates Another William Thorsson raises to $700 from the cut off and the button re-raises to $1,200. The small blind makes a third raises to $3,500. Thorsson re-raises $7,000 more and the small blind calls. The flop comes A22 and the small blind checks and Thorsson moves all-in for $100,000. The small blind makes the call after 2 minutes of deliberation and shows K-K. Thorsson taps the table and says "Wow," and sheepishly shows his 75. The turn is a 3 and the river a 4 giving Thorsson the wheel. Thorsson now sits with $125,000. |
That is sick. That dude must have one hell of a table image to have gotten that call.
|
I count 6 former champs still hanging around on 1D. Varkonyi, Hachem and Huck Seed look decent, and Moneymaker's at 20 grand. Amarillo Slim and Johnny Chan are both below the buy-in, hanging on for dear life.
|
You forgot Raymer and his 50,000 stack.
Edited to add: Just read the updates from last night. Chan and Moneymaker are out. 8,773 is the official attendance for this years main event. |
Sorry ... I was just mentioning last night's players. I think Raymer was on Mark's (or TP's, Bruce Wayne's Clark Kent's, however he wants to be referred to on this forum) night, right?
|
And it's just been announced: The winner will walk away with $12,000,000. The next 11 players will also become millionaires (if they're not already).
|
Insane...
It was just announced that we lost 140 players in 15 minutes of play following the money bubble bursting.
NUTS!! |
Is Alan Cunningham the only "big name" left? I think he is.
With only 46 players left, we are WAY ahead of schedule... Crazy. |
i thought it was pretty cool to see that richard gryko the actor went out in 50th place. and i am pretty sure the other big name out there is humberto brenes, then agasin he might have already busted out.
|
Jeffery Lisandro and Prahlad Friedman are left as well...
yes it is way ahead of schedule... they said its been alot of allin preflop coin flip situations, so people are just pushing in and praying, not really much poker playing from what I hear. |
thats just said, that really takes away from the game.
|
Interesting question
So now that we're waaaay ahead of schedule (well okay, apparently we're only one day ahead of schedule as they're planning on playing down to 27 players today - it's gonna be a short day I think as there are only 45 players left) as we trudge towards the final table, does anyone have any confirmed knowledge of what the plan is? What made me think about this is that I just saw a commercial for Bell ExpressVu's (our equivalent to Dish Network) PPV service where they're showing the final table of WSOP for $24.99CAD starting Thursday @ 5pm. Does this mean that the players will get a day off before final table? I can't see them changing the date/time of FT because of this live PPV thing.
|
Not a "huge name" but Humberto Brenes is still in it.
|
I still can't believe how far ahead of schedule they are... They got down to 27 while I was playing last night - BEFORE out dinner break, as I recall. That's a full day and a half ahead of schedule. I heard they may play to 9 today and give the players off tomorrow, but that was still undecided when I left. With the FT being PPV, I don't see them changing it, and the off day makes the most sense. Make sure everyone is well rested.
|
Prahlad Friedman has just been busted 21st...
Allen Cunningham is 2nd in chips with 13 million... I think he has a real chance of winning the whole thing. I would love to see a pro win this event to tell you the truth. |
Whoa! Alan Cunningham was short stacked the last time I saw him... he's second in chips with almost 12 million right now! That's twice as many as third place has...
And then there were 19. |
Me too.... And no one can say anything bad about Alan, so I'm rooting for him. He's a bit quieter than some of our recent Main Event winners, but I think he'd make an excellent chamption.
|
Hes VERY underrated, he cashes aleast 5 or 6 times every WSOP and is very good.
He doesnt get the respect that he deserves, all that will change tho if he takes this down. |
Indeed, and would be nice to see an established pro make it through this jungle.
Also, nice sig TP. |
I think anyone getting to this point in the tourney gets some cred, but if he wins it will be the single largest accomplishment of any player in poker history...8700+ requires an anti-donkey tank and some forizzle skills, hope he wins.
|
To be honest, I'd never heard of him (to the best of my knowledge - I MAY have seen him play on TV but just don't remember) until TP had him picked for that event he won - thus propelling TP FAR into the lead in the league.
But I've been watching him and he's done well in almost every (if not every) event he's played this year. So yeah, I'm rootin' for him too! Plus, I haven't checked the people ahead of TP in the league, but if Cunningham wins this, TP could very well WIN the FTP fantasy league!!!! |
I have Cunningham in my A Group, but so does the guy it first place, meaning I can't pass him. I may get a Top 10 overall finish though, depending on who everyone else selected, and that's pretty cool considering the size of the field. 4000+, right?
|
because hating is so much fun....
As I write this there are 14 left. I am confused if Jamie Gold sold his soul to get this lucky, or if he is straight up Beelzebub. Check out the evil bitch his mom is, quoting gutshot.com here- (and for those that don’t know, Einhorn is a non-sponsored player donating everything he wins to charity)
"Jamie rushed over to shake Einhorn's hand. Jamie has been on his best behavior today, though it appears as though he's forcing it. You can almost see him laughing inside everytime he goes to offer his sympathies to those players he knocks out. When Jamie walked over to his mother she was overheard laughing,''No more money for charity! Guess they're out of luck! Hahahaha!!!'' Melissa Hayden, friend of Allen Cunningham, also overheard the conversation and looked like she might throw up. Although Jamie has a large cheering section of friends and family, it seems as though every other person in there (including the camera guys) are hoping to witness his demise." edit-gutshot is killing me. This ends a bit describing how on a flop of A54 Luke Chung moves allin. Gold calls with AJ and, of course, turns one of his three outs. Gutshot.com-"Somewhere over the last few days…in the early hours… Jamie Gold, respendant in white robes, sacrificed a small child on an alter…(Well that's Barron's explanation)" |
sounds like a real piece of shit...
I was rooting for Einhorn, he was going to donate all his winnings to charity. He still has 600K to give to charity, not too bad. of course 12 million would of been better and one helluva story but oh well. |
Hey, look what I found... it's a list of 12 millionaires (and their current chip counts). I've taken the liberty of highlighting our next champion's name:
Jamie Gold 30,300,000 Allen Cunningham 14,450,000 Paul Wasicka 6,400,000 Michael Binger 5,800,000 Erik Friberg 4,950,000 Doug Kim 4,700,000 Rhett Butler 4,680,000 Dan Nassif 4,350,000 Leif Force 4,250,000 John Magill 4,000,000 Richard Lee 3,450,000 Fred Goldberg 2,800,000 |
From what I hear Jamie Gold is simply ANNIALATING the competition and catching cards HUGE. At double the chips of 2nd place, he's going to be a monster to knock down...
|
Is there a live webcast like last year?
|
Pay Per View. Or so I've heard.
|
Would that be it? |
I believe so, yes. I don't see anything about it on ESPN's site, but I did just find this. Interesting read:
I didn't realize Chan was in Gold's corner... nor did I realize that the biggest chip in play is a $100k chip... man, that going to be a lot of chips when they get heads up... |
yeah they added the 100K chip this year for the 1st time ever in WSOP history...
they said it looked like mint chocalate ice cream. yes Jamie Gold has caught huge hands... Set over set, him having the better set. hes also had 2 pr vs 2pr SEVERAL times and had the better two pair. The combination of great cards and his oppenents hitting huge hands as well has lead to his huge chip stack. |
Allen Cunningham is a beast. Easily the best player left, he'll take it down.
|
Check out yer man here in the featured photos section (not Todd Brunson, the other guy). Stop me if this has already been posted, but I just stumbled upon it moments ago:
|
Whoa............. how in the world am I in a FEATURED photo??? That pic is currently on EVERY bio page, etc... There's Cunningham, me, and Hellmuth - on every page. Yeah, that sounds about right.
This is a better link to the gallery, since it has nothing to do with Todd Brunson: |
wow
wow dude you are famous and shit dude, thats really cool. |
Turns out the Featured Photos are actually ALL OVER the site... you know, like on the Poker Headlines page:
(Not to mention every article, the blogs, the bios, etc, etc, etc) Neat. |
That's pretty kick-ass. The only thing I have to decide now is do I want to get one of the blue sweatshirts or red sweatshirts... :)
|
Blue and grey by far |
They are actually both pretty sweet looking, IMO. I also have a solid blue with red letters. It looks good, but it's heavier (maybe good for you folks up north), so I didn't wear it in Vegas. It was so cold in the Rio, I probably could have though.
|
Dit-toe.
|
Dan Nassif got knocked out in 9th, for a cool $1.5 and change, courtesy of Jamie Gold's flopped set of 2's against his AK...and Jaime is up to 30 mill again...
|
The guy is an absolute monster. I don't know how good he is - but he sure is lucky.
|
Just wanna throw out a GL to Doug Kim. He is a nl400 regular on Party Poker.
|
Gold just turned over 10 9 to take a pot down on a 992 board, the pot ended up being with Alan, who flipped a 9 when he mucked his hand. It was a 10 million-ish pot...seriously man, this guy couldn't ask for much more help than he is getting.
|
Just in case anyone missed it.... this thread has kinda moved here:
