Mizzou +3.5 for Thursday, probably going to bet some on straight up later, and more on spread if it changes more in Mizzou's favor. I'm actually pissed Mizzou is ranked 24 this week, if we weren't ranked the line would have been alot better.

Agreed. I haven't bet the NFL in about 5 years, but when I did, I never bet on or against the Patriots (which saved me a lot of $$$ in the Super Bowl vs the Rams)

While I prob will never bet against them, I don't always bet them, when they are favored by like 24 points and stuff I just don't bet, but Mizzou has won me more $ betting than any team. And I'm mainly doing betting for fun with what is .166% of my poker $ lol, makes it seem pretty ridiculous how much I sweat the games I bet when you think about it like that, but it def makes watching more fun.

well drinking began as soon as I get back from my 9:300 class, my teachers canceled the rest of my classes, and I bet more $ on Miz to win straight up at +150. going to be an insanely drunk day - night and hopefully one with profit of the sports kind of wager drama:cheers::cheers:

How can anyone not be jumping on the Colts-Titans line???? There is just no way the Titans stay within 4 of the Colts. Unless there is a monsoon during the game, Manning will torch the Titans secondary (which is hammered with injuries and made Jacksonville's pass attack look like the 49ers Montana to Rice years). This game has the makings of a 34-10 win for the Colts.

I had a great weekend, going 3-0 betting the NFL (Denver +3, Atlanta +2.5, Indy -3.5 (ty RD)), won all 3 Phillies related bets I placed (didn't bet the one game they lost), and won my NASCAR bet, picking Jimmie Johnson to win.

Indeed. I know I'm in a minority here, and it's probably because I am just "used to it," but I still like . I've been betting with them, for 12+ years.

I actually logged into my Bodog account for the first time in a few years yesterday and saw I had $65ish sitting in there, so I put it all on he Phillies last night. Man, what a game that was! :)

Florida -24 Arkansas

For a variety of reasons I just don't see Florida coving that spread: (1) they could have a letdown after all the hype of their big game last week at LSU, and many were saying that was the only hurdle for the Gators until the SEC Championship Game, (2) Arkansas can score, they've put up 41 or more in 4 of their 5 games this year, (3) Urban Meyer put in a very conservative game plan last week in response to Tebow coming back from a concussion and they have been much more of a run-first, control the clock offense than they were last year, I doubt that will change this week.

Given all the above, this has the makings of a trap game and reminds me a lot of the situation coming into the Gators game against Mississippi last year (a game the Gators lost at home). I don't think the Gators lose this one, but I can see it being fairly close, something like 30-17.

My $0.02 (and that may be all it's worth), Eagles game is a trap. 2nd week in a row on the road with a division game next week is textbook for underperformance. Plus, all NFL coaches not named belichick tend to get conservative when up by 2+ touchdowns.

No way no how on the Jets. IMO, giving 10 points in any AFC East game regardless of team records is dangerous.

Personally, I like NO -3 and CIN/HOU over 46.

I actually forgot to bet on the Phillies (and on Jimmie Johnson) somehow. But I still enjoyed the game.

OK, here's 2 for this week.

Jets -6.5 at Oakland

Logic: Jets cannot lose another game before playing Miami next week, and despite what the Raiders did (or Philly didn't do) last week, Rex Ryan's defense should befuddle JaMarcus Russell.

Bills +7 at Carolina

Logic: OK, I admit it. I gravitate toward dogs in interconference games between mediocre teams. In addition, Thomas Davis, the Panthers best run stopper, will be way less than 100% IF he plays at all, and the Bills can run. The Bills can also rush the QB, and Jake Delhomme needs things to be perfect not to suck. :D

I almost forgot to make some bets this week. Let's see, I'm gonna go with:

I went 4-2 again this week AND won my 7 team (straight up, not ATS) parlay. Woot!

My rarely used (just for-fun) sports betting account now has a balance big enough that I think it's worth cashing out some for the first time in a long time.

I'm petty sure I only ever deposited once, way back in 1997 and I've only made a few withdraws, but it's pretty cool to still be running on that same money.

This was my favorite way to bet when I got started in 1997. I'd basically pick the biggest favorites of the week (skipping any that I thought had good shots of being upsets, like this week when I skipped the Giants playing the Cardinals (I think the Giants were favored). It's amazing how much the odds add up when they multiply like that. This week's 7 teams were all more than 7 point favorites and I ended up getting better than 5:1 odds. Boom - easy money!

Of course, more often than not, 1 upset wrecks this little "system" of mine. I usually pick 4-6 teams, but honestly liked all 7 a lot this week.

I was in a straight up pick'em league one year, back in like 1999 or 2000, and actually had a perfect week once (13 games, I think it was). That doesn't sound that impressive, but it really is. No parlay for me that week, but that would have been some sick odds, and I even had a couple of dogs in there.

We had someone in my office pool go 18 for 20 this past week... and we do 10 college and 10 NFL games all against the spread. I think the best I've done in that format is 15... 18 is pretty nuts.

Giants -1 at Philly

Logic: Against the Eagles off the short week. Plus the MNF game was more a win based on the Skins ineptitude than anything Philly really did that was impressive.

Jags at Titans Under 44 1/2. Just feels like a slogging, low scoring game.

I'm going with:

Broncos +4 vs. Ravens
Texans -3.5 vs. Bills
Eagles + 2 vs. Giants (this is me betting purely as a fan)
Jaguars +3 Titans (I really like this game)

Another winning weekend for me. Funny that the game I loved the most wasn't even close though. Who knew there was a football team in Tennessee? And Carolina wrecked my parlay... jerks.

Logic: I've said I lean towards dogs in interconference games between mediocre teams. In this case, neither team is mediocre. The Titans are a bad team with a weak QB, and the 49'ers are becoming a good team. last week vs. Indy was not a fluke.

Texans +8.5 at Indy

Logic: No brainer. Best bet I've seen this year. Colts' secondary is decimated vs a passing attack that's right up there with the best in the NFL. Peyton will have to absolutely light it up to avoid their first loss here. In fact, taking flier on a parlay of Hou +8.5 and over 49.5 in this game would look tempting to me if I liked parlays. :cool:
