so basiclaly ur still involved in the scam

Ah, some good ol' money laundering on top of it all - heh.

Obv all the jumping through hoops should be a massive red flag for you, and I'm sure it is. The fact that you had to do all of that to recoup about half of your initial investment is pretty worrying, but hopefully you will be able to get the rest out too. If enough other people's new money is coming in to cover it, you may be able to, but I wouldn't count on it... At least you got half back.

Yup still involved in a scam that paid out what it was supposed to and at the end of this month when i receive the next payment from april-sept will have paid out more than i invested. I got scammed and they made me $. Damn

Zybomb 10-15-09 03:33 PM

I couldve taken everything out if i wanted $7779. I chose not to. And if this is a scam (not gunna argue since you're convinced either way) it's an interesting one since it has paid out my friend's uncle for 3 years straight now.

How many years did Bernie Madoff pay out before his Ponzi scheme came crashing down?

I'm glad you might be able to get out before taking a big loss.

Then again, maybe these mysterious people - friends of uncles of friends - who don't work for an actual company and take months to move money around through very obviously shady means, actually are the only people in the world who have figure out how to invest money and always profit with no risk.

Yep.

Zybomb 10-15-09 05:31 PM

Once the pending withdrawal is received I'll be ahead. And as long as I continue to get paid (freerolling since the profits will be greater than my initial investment and Im not investing more $$$) I have no intention of "getting out"

And mysterious people = an uncle of my friend...

but whatever, any "scam" that makes me $ instead of, you know...scamming me is a scam Im fine with

JDMcNugent7 10-22-09 12:19 AM

I don't see any way it's not a scam, maybe you are one the lucky ones that gets $, so u can tell more people that eventually get scammed, that's the only way i see you gaining from this.

Madoff kept a ponzi scheme running for 18-20 years. The ability to pay off your friend's uncle for 2 years is not unbelievable by any stretch.

And, should you get your money back, that would be incredibly awesome.

I hope you take the chance to remove all of your money from this as soon as possible.

Here is a short story regarding the Met's owner actually making a profit:

Not trying to imply that Zy would get sued (i am by no means a finc expert or lawyer, trust me on that). But just to show that some people did turn a profit even though most were scammed.

Another older story referencing the fact that some did make money and the possible fight to get those funds back:
